Sealed With the Stamp of the King

"And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession-to the praise of his glory." Ephesians 1:13-14

Recently, I was talking with a friend. My heart became burdened as she doesn't know who she is. Life's rocky path has confined her to a small cave of fear where she peeps her head every once in awhile. The Enemy has told her she is safe there. She has been there so long it is familiar. As we talked, my spirit reminded me that we all have that 'cave'. There are times when I need a reminder of who I am, too.

So, I asked her some questions. "Do you believe in God?" (Yes.) "Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God?" (Yes.) "Do you believe that He died for your sins, paid a debt you owed but couldn't pay, so that you can be reconciled back to God?" (Yes.) "Do you repent and desire to walk a new path-one that He has chosen for you?" (Yes.)

All the while, I asked myself the same. See, sometimes, we get too far down the wrong path and suddenly nothing looks or feels familiar. Oh, in the beginning the path looked right. It resembled 'correctness', it might have even been 'correct'-for a season. But we stayed too long, got caught up in the excitement of our peers, and now we are deep into the woods.

Time for an assessment. I always start at the Rock of Truth with the questions above.  Once those answers are confirmed, other Truths flow out  like a Living waterfall into our souls:

We are children of the One True God. We are included in Christ. We are sealed with a mark, the Holy Spirit. God loves us. Jesus saved us. He reconciled us into God's family. We are guaranteed life with the Creator, FatherGod. The Holy Spirit transforms us. Our 'mark' is seen as the Godprints on our lives. Our heart will begin to show God's healing balm, becoming flesh where it once was stone. We will begin to shine into our sphere of influence. It's not how many good works you do, what you look like or what job you have. It's not what man has listed we must project; but the glory of God working through His vessel-us.

The Enemy is cunning and knows that if he can fill our minds with believable deceptions, we will forget who we are. We will stagnate. Maybe, even stop completely. Shriveling up where we cower.

Do not give up. Clear the sticky, entangled cobwebs that clog your brain. Fill your mind with the Truth of God's love for YOU. You are sealed with the stamp of the King. Allow the Holy Spirit to transform you. Hold your head up. Take the step forward. Stand strong. Your whole being is beautiful. Worthy. A treasure to be cherished.
