Why Do We Have to Talk About the Ugly Stuff?

Sanctity of Life: Secrets, Grief and Healing Why do we have to talk about this again ? Why can't we just let people do what they want with their own bodies? Why do we have to talk about child development and abortion facts? They might be done having kids so they don’t ‘need it’. Their kids aren’t old enough to know about how they came to be and how marvelous God's design is. I've been told these things and more but we need the information to have the conversations.  We need to be having the conversations because the church has been silent. The church being silent has brought us to debating:     w hen does life begin, if the preborn child has any value, is life really sacred (sacred is a lost concept), millions of women (and men) are haunted by a decision made from the dece...

Sanctity of Life: Superheroes

As we continue through Sanctity of Life Month, I was wondering: Have you ever wanted to be a superhero?   If I were a superhero, I would be a combination of Wonder Women with her Lasso of Truth and Iron Man’s ‘Power palm’. They would automatically know how much they are loved and valued by their Creator God. They could make choices from a healthier place. There are times during prayerful worship that I feel God’s Presence so strongly that I expect to see His Power shooting from my palm into the room or the one I might be praying for. Oh how I wish! But God doesn’t call us to zap ...

January: Sanctity of Life Month

January is National Sanctity of Life Month . A month set aside by President Ronald Reagan in 1984 so, as a nation, we can remember the value of life. From conception to death, every human being has value, purpose and potential to bring light into the world. You have value because you were made in the image of God. You had value from the first spark of your cells. You have hope of the ministry of reconciliation with your Creator God until your last breath. Whether a person is in the womb, may have an abnormality, or may be older and in need of constant care; their life has value. Life is sacred. We do not have the right to select who gets to continue the life God has already given them just because we find them undesirable. We are called to be a voice for the voiceless. That is, if you claim Jesus as your Lord and Savior, the decision is already made. Jesus is LIFE. He is not about death. As a believer, you are an ambassador of Christ (Matt. 22) and called to be a light amid...
